Gay Nice · Beaches

Nice is located on along a stretch of Mediterranean coastline known as the Bay of Angels.

The beach, made up mostly of pebbles, is split into public sections and 'private beaches; which are accessible to all and get very busy in the summer. A mat or padded roll is recommended to make the experience more comfortable. There is a long, beautiful promenade along the top of the beach wall.

Private beaches offer comfortable sun loungers, shades, towels, an at-seat bar service and usually a pretty good restaurant. Most provide decking down to the sea so customers avoid the discomfort of walking on hot rocks.

Private beaches offer more protection from pickpockets. Most hotels offer guests preferential rates with an affiliated private beach.

Very chic private beach, bar & restaurant, located at the eastern end of Promenade des Anglais, near the Chateau on the hill.

Castel Plage has a relatively sheltered beach, with private decking down to the waters edge. Always popular with the gay crowd.

Expect to pay for sun beds, shades and everything to want to eat and drink, but the service is fast and prices are reasonable. Recommended.

The rocky but beautiful Coco Beach is a popular hangout for gay nudist sunbathers.

The beach is located to the East of Nice port and requires a bit of a walk to reach. From Coco Beach Restaurant, follow the path east for about 10 minutes.

One of the most popular gay/nudist beaches in Cote d'Azur and one of the trickiest to reach. There are no services on the beach, so take your own drinks and snacks.

The beach can be reached by the #100 bus service from Nice to Monaco. Alight at "Parking St Laurent d’Eze", and follow the signposted trail "Castelleret Inferieur" to the beach.

For an even more detailed description, see the review posted by Paul below.

At the beach, turn right, head up the concrete steps and follow the path around to the gay beach area. This is a rocky path, so wear appropriate footwear. The beach (and bus service) is particularly busy during the summer weekends.
