Israel is one of the most fascinating countries in the world. It is by far the most gay-friendly country in the Middle East, with Tel Aviv being the centre of its gay culture and nightlife.
Jerusalem is, of course, the capital of the three great monotheistic religions with much spectacular architecture to prove it. You’ll see the Dome of the Rock, the Wailing Wall and the Temple Mount. You’ll also have the opportunity to float weightlessly in the Dead Sea.
You’ll be welcomed at the airport by one of our representatives and transferred to your hotel.
Our tour guide will show us the wonders of the city, from Church of the Holy Sepulcher to the Dome Of The Rock. In terms of historical significance, Jerusalem is arguably unrivalled. It has fallen under the sway of most of the major empires, including the Roman, British and Ottoman.
History seems to be stacked in sedimentary layers, and it can be overwhelming. Some people have even been afflicted by ‘Jerusalem Syndrom.’
On the fourth day, you’ll get the chance to float weightlessly in the buoyant waters of the Dead Sea. This is the lowest point on earth and rich with healing mineral.
You’ll also visit the ruins of King Herod’s Palace by the cliff-top fortress of Masada.
You’ll be staying in Tel Aviv during the weekend, so it’s the perfect time to explore the gay bars and parties.
As well as partying you can take part in many of the cultural activities this city offers, such as strolling down Rothschild Boulevard, taking a day trip to Haifa or just soak up the sun. Tel Aviv will be the final stop of this trip, unless you’re carrying on to Jordan with the 11-day explorer trip. Otherwise you’ll be picked and taken to the airport for your return flight.
