If you’re travelling from the US you can expect to arrive in Havana by mid-morning, allowing time for you to check in and enjoy a spot of lunch. Get to know your fellow gay travellers with Caribbean cuisine at a privately owned restaurant. Today you’ll explore the city with a walking tour. Old Havana has a tumultuous history, making for a fascinating tour of the area. Dine as a group this evening at another local paladar. Tonight you can expect to get a taste of Havana’s vibrant music scene.
Our cycling adventure begins as we prepare to cycle from historic Havana to Las Terrazas. We’ll travel southwest past Vereda, Caimito, Guyabal, and Cayajabos. Our cycle concludes at Las Terrazas, home to over 117 bird species. Time permitting, we’ll visit a local artist’s workshop to learn about politics and art within the small community. Later, we’ll enjoy yet another delicious dinner before turning in for the night.
Witness some of Cuba’s most breathtaking landscapes as you peddle down winding roads towards La Sierra del Roasario Biosphere Reserve. Next, we’ll continue on to Bahia Honda, where we can enjoy lunch as a group. After a quick pause at La Palma, we’ll be on our way to Vinales. Tonight, enjoy drinks and dinner with the group before turning in for the night at a private home.
Enjoy a tasty breakfast before getting back on your bike to explore more Cuban landscapes. We’ll reach Puerto Esperanza around lunchtime, after which you’ll be transferred back inland to Vinales.
Today we’ll be cycling to Puente de Cabezas, a rural town surrounded by luscious natural beauty and birds. Later, we’ll explore tobacco fields, where you can gain insight into the process of cigar production. After our pit-stop, we’ll continue to Pinar del Rio, where pine trees litter the riverbanks. Check into the hotel and refresh yourself before enjoying some local cuisine as a group.
Our cycling adventure continues through rural Cuba, as we venture along the La Carretera Central Highway. Here we’ll pass through Herradura, Capilla, and Paseo Real de San Diego before ending up in Fierro. For lunch we’ll enjoy a light picnic at a scenic location. Tonight we return to Havana for dinner as a group.
This morning we’ll drive to Jaimanitas, home to a widespread art exhibition. Stroll through Fusterlandia and take in the stunning surroundings and iconic Cuban images. Next, a visit to the Museo de Ernesto Hemingway is in order. For lunch we’ll dine at the seaside town of Cojimar. Enjoy the afternoon exploring Havana on foot before you experience some of Havana’s salsa-filled nightlife.
Day 8 marks the end of your gay Cuba cycling adventure. Enjoy a final breakfast as a group before returning to the airport to board your flight home.
