Group Trip Breakdown

Day 1: Casablanca

Our trip will begin in the port city of Casablanca, known as Morocco’s cultural capital. A driver will meet you at the airport to transfer you to your city hotel. Depending on flight time, you may have the chance to explore historic Casablanca in the morning. After you’ve settled in, freshen up at the hotel and prepare for a welcome dinner with your fellow travellers.

Day 2: Fes

Enjoy some breakfast in Casablanca, before we depart for Fes. We’ll be taking the scenic route through the rural landscapes of Morocco. Before we reach our final destination, we’ll stop at the holy city of Moulay Idriss. Come early evening, we’ll be in Fes ready to settle into atmospheric accommodation by the medina.

Day 3: The Imperial City of Fes

Spend the day touring at historic Fes. Known as the symbolic heart of Morocco, Fes is full of culture. After a long day of exploring we’ll return to the hotel for some R&R.

Day 4: Erfoud

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel this morning and prepare for further exploration of beautiful Morocco. Today you’ll be heading upwards through the cedar-covered slopes of the Middle Atlas Mountains. We’ll pass through several picturesque little towns before stopping for lunch at Errachidia. Finally, we’ll arrive at the picturesque oasis, Erfoud. Take in the stunning scenery of Saharan sand dunes before settling in for the night.

Day 5: Merzouga Dunes

4 x 4 Land Cruisers will take us out of Erfoud this morning. Soon we’ll arrive at the nearby village of Rissani, home to the African/Berber trading market. On the way to our next destination you’ll also have the chance to bird watch, as the dunes are home to some of Morocco’s desert birds. Next, we’ll take a camel ride along the dunes. Camp under the stars tonight as we’ll be setting up for the night in camel-skin tents.

Days 6 and 7: Gorges

Begin the day with a stunning sunrise across the dunes, after which we’ll enjoy a group breakfast and set off on our travels. It’s back on the camels for us, as we head back towards Erfoud. Over the next two days we’ll be immersed in the beauty of the Todra and Dades Gorges. Two nights will be spent in a Kasbah-style hotel overlooking Boumalne-Dades. Explore the region at your leisure, or spend some time relaxing by the hotel’s pool.

Day 8: Ouarzazate to Ben Haddou

Continuing west along the Dades River, we’ll pass through the Skoura Oasis. Next, we’ll visit the largest city in the region, Ouarzazate. There’s a market offering fine pottery, locally made carpets and other Moroccan products. Another site worth seeing is the outdoor movie studio, where films such as ‘Cleopatra’ were recorded. Tonight, we’ll check in at a riad-style hotel.

Day 9: Marrakesh

Known as the Pearl of the South, Marrakesh is Morocco’s fourth imperial city. Upon arrival we’ll venture into the heart of the old city to our boutique lodging. In the local area we’ll be surrounded by restaurants, cafes and the main market. Enjoy the remainder of the afternoon either relaxing or exploring independently.

Day 10: Exploring Marrakesh

Today we’ll be exploring Marrakesh further. Look forward to visiting some of the city’s most beautiful gates, the ancient Bab Aguenau. We’ll also be visiting the 19th century Bahia Palace, home to beautiful Moorish gardens and Andalucian decorations. Later we will visit the Koutoubia mosque. Time permitting, we’ll then travel to the Majorelle Garden, known for its subtropical vegetation, as well as the Museum of Islamic Art (restored by Yves Saint-Laurent).
