About this Trip
Join a luxury gay group trip and discover the island of Malta. It’s packed with fascinating history and architecture. You’ll find ancient Roman cities, great paintings by Caravaggio and temples that pre-date the pyramids of Giza by 1000 years.
Malta is, according to the Rainbow Index, the most gay-friendly country in the whole of Europe.
Group Trip Breakdown
Day 1: Arrival
You’ll be transferred from the airport to our first hotel. We’ll have a welcome dinner in the evening.
Day 2: Caverns And Temples
In the morning we’ll set out on a mild hike in the countryside. We’ll then visit the ancient temples of Mnajdra Temple and Hagar Qim. After visiting the famous Blue Grotto, we’ll head to Hypogeum, a 5000-year-old temple.
Day 3: Valetta
Valetta, Malta’s tiny capital city, is the European Capital of Culture for 2018. We’ll explore on of Europe’s oldest working theatres, the Baroque Manoel Theater, and also the Hospital of the Knights of St. John, one of Malta’s greatest buildings.
We’ll have lunch at one of the best restaurants on the island. Then, we’ll take an elevator ride to Custom House and take a cruise along the Grand Harbour.
Day 4: Southern Lace
Today we’ll learn about Maltese artisanal trades, such as lacemaking – a trade associated with Malta since the 16th-century. We’ll also go for a wine tasting session at the family-owned San Niklaw Estate winery, and then have lunch in a fishing village.
Evening at leisure.
Day 5: Dingli Cliffs And Mdina
The Dingli Cliffs are the highest point of Malta. From here we’ll head to Misraħ Għar il-Kbir and discover ancient tracks built around 2000 BC. They may have facilitated the trade routes in the Bronze Age, but no one knows quite what purpose they served.
We’ll then visit Mdina and Rabat and then have a Maltese lunch on a farm in the countryside.
Day 6: Gozo
This morning we’ll try our hand at quad biking on the island of Gozo. We’ll have a picnic, go kayaking along the coast, explore the island’s caves and then dine at Xlendi Bay.
Day 7: Sailing The Mediterranean
Today we’ll set out on a private boat tour on the Allegra around the Maltese Coast. We’ll have lunch on board.
