Discover the classic cuisine of Puglia with this food and wine-focused gay group trip to Italy. Savour seasonal produce, sample vibrant dishes, and learn how to cook like a native with cooking lessons from the Bear Naked Chef.
Upon arrival at either Bari or Brindisi airport, you’ll be collected and transferred to the hotel Masseria, a historic former-farmhouse which has been renovated and turned into a hotel. Spend the day relaxing before you join the group for a delicious three-course dinner with wine, prepared by the Bear Naked Chef.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before your first cooking lesson with a local chef. Learn how to prepare authentic local dishes using regional produce and professional techniques. Whatever you make in your cooking lesson will then be served for lunch. This afternoon we’ll travel to Locorotondo, a picturesque town overlooking the Itrian Valley. Here, you will dine at a traditional restaurant, and enjoy complimentary wine.
After a tasty breakfast, we will depart for Alberobello, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From here, we will travel to Polignano, famous for its stunning turquoise waters and scenic coastline. Enjoy a lunch of fresh seafood and locally sourced produce before heading to Ostuni. In Ostuni a fine dining experience is awaiting you at a Michelin star restaurant.
Today we will be visiting the fresh food markets in Martina Franca. Here, you will be guided around the market and encouraged to select ingredients for dinner. At the hotel you will learn to make fresh pasta from scratch and prepare a delicious meal using the ingredients purchased earlier.
Today’s destination is a local winery, where you will have the opportunity to sample wines produced in Puglia. Here you can enjoy a tour of the local vineyards, before being taken to Lecce for lunch in a local eatery. Spend the afternoon exploring Lecce and its beautiful architecture. Dinner tonight will be in a local pizzeria.
On the last full day of your gay group trip to Italy, you will experience authentic, locally-made olive oil. This morning we will go to a Frantoio, a traditional farm known for its production of olive oil; here, you will be educated about the history of olive oil, and have a chance to sample different varieties. This evening, return to your lodgings and prepare your last meal as a group. Your homemade dinner will be served to locals, as well as your fellow gay travellers. After dinner the locals will host a farewell party in the hotel.
Today marks the conclusion of your Puglia food and wine tour. Enjoy one last breakfast with your group before saying goodbye to beautiful Puglia.
