For over 20 years, The Duke of Wellington has served as a classic British local gay pub in the middle of Soho.

A genuinely friendly bar that serves as a 'local' for many who live or work in the heart of London, it's a place where you can catch up with friends, dance to the songs the DJs are spinning or get competitive over drag bingo and quiz.

The team is lively and friendly, eager to welcome guests every night.

My favorite SCRUFFy bar in London:

The Welly is my favorite SCRUFFy bar in London: its chilled, relaxed, friendly atmosphere make me always feel home! If you want to celebrate your birthday (as I usually do), tell the managers in advance: they will be able to book a reserved area for you and your party on the upper floor.

Value for money

Love the Wellington on a Monday night. Nothing particularly special about the place itself, but it just sort of attracts a great mix of people, unpretentious and pretty good value for money. Upstairs is quieter, more seating, a place you can have a conversation.

The Wellie

Adopted by many gay Londoners as a favorite Soho bar, The Wellie is always a good place to meet up with a local crowd of friendly and relaxed guys.
