Opened in 2006, Elsker (which means ‘love’ in English) is a favorite hangout and club for Oslo gays, lesbians, trans, bisexuals and queers – of all colors, shapes and sizes!
This bar also serves food and gets busy on the weekends with young crowds dancing to pop and Eurovision songs, otherwise a great place to chill out, have a few drinks and make new friends.

“Great place to visit , nice music and good atmosphere . Really enjoyed dance floor on 1 floor . Until some drunk person start to misbehave.“
“Elsker is one of the two main gay bars in Oslo. Elsker features a ground floor bar with couches that has a lounge vibe. They also had a coat check on the ground floor. On the second floor is a dance floor with a DJ, some seating, and a bar. The third floor (only open late on the weekend) features another bar, a little dancing, and lots of seating for large groups. The third floor reminded me of an upscale club.
On Friday night the second floor hosted a drag show about 10pm. You can see the events on their Facebook page. The drag show was fun!
Elsker does have a cover charge on the weekends (I think after 11pm). I would consider Elsker a mixed bar. On Saturday night the main dance floor consisted mostly of strait women, with a few gay men. It was still fun, but not a typically gay dance club.
Staff was friendly. Drinks were average and fairly consistent with what you'll find all over Scandinavia.“
