This is a HUGE Club

There are SIX (count 'em, SIX) bars spread across 2 floors in this place! Monday - Wednesday, just the 1st floor is open (and only some of it). Thursday - Sunday, the whole place opens up. There are drag shows, foam parties, 3 separate dance floors, karaoke, full food service Wednesday - Sunday and bar pizza every day, an all ages Drag brunch that kids (I'm talking 5-year olds) are welcome to attend (picture drag performances of Disney songs) - this place does it all. Also of note with their drag shows - the Gay 90s has sent 2 queens to RuPaul's Drag Race: Season 1 winner & All-Stars Season 3 3rd Runner Up BeBe Zahara Benet, and Season 11 contestant Mercedes Iman Diamond - who is still in their drag cast as I write this. There are no saunas or bathhouses in Minneapolis, so the Gay 90s regularly throws a Jock Strap Party where their "Playroom" Bar essentially becomes a back room (men only - jockstrap required). The drinks are ridiculously strong - their normal pour is a double anywhere else - and their prices are not insane, neither is the cover charge (generally $5-10 for 21 & up, more for under 21). The next largest LGBT bar in town (overall square footage) is LUSH, and it is about 1/3 the size. The downside is when this place gets busy, it is PACKED! It is difficult to navigate from bar to bar, or from level to level when it's that busy. Also, this is the gay bar that straight people are comfortable going to, so on weekends especially, the crowd is very much mixed. However, all types come to this bar - all ages, races, sizes, and genders. It is not unusual for the 60+ crowd to have dinner on a Friday, and then the after-theater crowd comes in for drinks, and then the young under 30 crowd comes in for dancing and shenanigans. The building needs some TLC. Several of the bars have been remodeled, and you can open up a tab at one bar and have access to it at any other bar in the place - but some parts of the building are just old. I recommend using the restrooms off the Happy Hour Bar - they are the nicest. All the others will do, but the Happy Hour restrooms are larger, have more toilets (no lines, ladies) and are just... nicer. If you come on a Friday or Saturday after 11 PM, expect to wait in line to get in - especially if there's a Foam Party or other event.
