    Would return if younger

“Stayed here as a solo traveller in early May 2017. Place was clean and central, pictures on this site need to be updated as shower room and kitchen had been renovated. Staff member was arrogant because I was late when I arrived! I previously e-mailed what time my Ryanair flight was to arrive from Ireland and as it was my 1st time in Berlin I couldn't predict what time or how far the hostel was from the airport, or figuring out the public transport system!

Information leaflets/brochures were present in hostel, no staff presence as I was out when hostel was cleaned, kitchen partially renovated while I was there (not necessary to replace the existing sink!). Other guests were generally cold and unfriendly when I said hello but I respected their space, one guest was arrogant towards me because I came in the back door instead of the main door, what difference did it make to him??? The same keys opened both front and back doors! I stayed in 6-bedded room, only downside about this was that it was located straight off the communal lounge with 1 guest singing while listening to his MP3 Player late at night! No shower gel supplied in communal showers so I had to buy some, but then again this is a hostel, not a hotel. Guests in room were quiet at night so I could sleep, lockers with keys available in rooms in lieu of hotel room keys, bed was not too comfortable! Free tea and coffee, no cooking facilities except for microwave. Markers supplied so that guests could write their names on food items before putting in fridges in kitchen, keys to be left in secure box on checkout.

At least it was not sleazy for a gay hostel, no unwanted groping or lewd behaviour witnessed when I was there! I would love to return but I am now too old! I would definitely recommend this for cheaper accommodation for the under 39 year olds. “
