  1. Unacceptable behaviour at gay sauna in Dublin

“I am a professional from Sydney Australia in Dublin for a Conference. I came for the last three nights at the broiler house, the only gay sauna in Dublin and all was good. Today around 9:50 PM I came back again, and after an hour walking around, the guy who works at the reception (slim with dark/grey hair) told me I cannot wear sneakers there and offered me thongs. I explained to him I have a back problem and I cannot wear them as I will get lower back pain tomorrow.

Without providing a reason why I cannot wear sneakers, he asked me to leave. I get changed straight away and, at the time I was returning the keys, he abused me and insulted me in Irish in front of his co-worker a blonde guy. The other co-worker did nothing, and I was shocked.

I did not ask for my money back; I don’t understand the reason why he was aggressive and did not let me talk. He did not articulate why I cannot wear thongs in the venue if the last three days I was wearing it and the other workers there did not tell me anything.

As an Australian client, I am devastated by the customer service received by this guy. This is unacceptable, and this person should be trained to communicate and to show respect for the clients. We pay their salaries. If it is a house's rule, this should be explained to the rest of the workers there and the clients before wasting their money.

I contacted them, and I am not expecting an apology, because they probably will try to cover it. I have read reviews before that many clients get bad customer service at saunas and nobody does anything. The owners of these establishments seem to protect their workers. I am glad I live in Australia, and the staff that works at saunas are very friendly and respect the clients.“

  5. I can highly recommend

“I went to The Dock gay sauna around 7 times in this year. It is true that the staff are very friendly. I felt very comfortable there. Especially when I came first time (shy and nervous). I like the sauna because all the time was clean. There were not many people each time but I prefer that way. I have met mostly European and Latin guys. I have a good and safe sessions with some guys around my age like 20s or 30s. There were some older guys but out of my age range. I like that in general guys respected when I was not interested of them. I never saw anyone drunk or used drugs (except poppers). TV rooms are comfortable and I like watch some hot action not only on the screen. I visited this place mainly on Friday's or Saturday's evenings. I can't tell how is there in other days. I can't accommodate so for me it's the best way to meet someone. I'm sick of phone apps and all time wasters. I can highly recommend this place. I will definitely visit the sauna soon.“

  6. Happy with this place

“Married bi guy love visiting this sauna. Staff are very friendly rooms booths are cleaned and kept great. Only €15 before 12 pm think it's a good place to visit.

Mixture of young and old guys I have had fun with in this sauna. Worth a visit if in town. It's smaller that the other place but I think it's better.“
