I was subjected to disability discrimination at this hotel.....its not nice to feel like you are not allowed to speak to people....I was made to feel about as welcome as a turd in a swimming pool.....decided to get my own back in the end and brought the entire house down by ranting and raving early one morning....I think this hotel has got it coming to it as well as the people in it.....It's a ramshackle of a place....the Birmingham scene is on its last legs and the place needs to be condemned.....don't stay here if you have half a brain.....

unfriendly rude staff, basic rooms, unsafe area

Staff are rude, dismissive and unfriendly, especially the younger guy with the glasses. Staff need to go on a 'customer care' or 'customer service' course. Area is unsafe - stones were thrown at the hotel windows early in the morning. Facilities are very basic and dirty; rooms are tiny and uncomfortable. Nor is it a gay-friendly hotel, as they claim. Price-wise they are in the same bracket as Travelodge, Premier Inn, but do not offer anything those chains do - will not stay there the next time I am in Birmingham later this month.

The Fountain and Boltz are the best gay bars in Brum

This is a mans bars for men who want other men, it has exceptional character and strikes me as a bar/inn not associated with big corporations out to get your money. It is filled with dark colors and wearing leather, rubber and even a gas mask wouldn't look out of place in here ;) Put it this way if Tom of Finland was sitting at the bar he would just blend in with the background. I've stayed in the hotel many times and I would call it luxury compared to the surrounding corporate controlled hotels.

Worst night stay

Rude staff and the noise from the bar was unbearable. I asked them to move us to a more quite room and was told no you can like it or leave, so we did. I have emailed the owner months ago and as yet had no reply.

Curious

What age group tends to go to this pub? And what is a Friday night like?
