Cheap, friendly but a bit worn...

The rooms are nice, with a kitchenette in most, which is convenient... large fridge, and Chong Nonsi BTS is just opposite... Silom is within walking distance if you are not too lazy. On the downside: the gym is unusable and the pool has seen its better times.. Also in the room and in the hotel, it needs some maintenance and upkeep. So certainly not local 4 star anymore, but perhaps a decent local 3 star. The cheap rates somewhat make up for it... Wifi is sketchy at times.

My Go To Hotel in Bangkok

When I am in Bangkok I always stay at the Heritage Hotel Silom because it is only steps away from the Chong Nonsi BTS station. The Heritage is VERY gay friendly, clean, includes free breakfast in price of the room, and inexpensive. The hotel is also very centrally located so you can get to the Silom gay bar scene and Siam Centershopping district within minutes. You can also get directly to the Weekend Market within 15-20 minutes from the Chong Nonsi BTS station. Just up the street from the Heritage is one of my favorite gay owned restaurants called Eat Me. The food is European style and is a great place for a romantic (but expense) dinner. I have only one minor complaint about the Heritage. The breakfast offerings could be updated a bit.
