Why this hotel? Fabulous design. Convenient location. Near the gay scene. Free WiFi.
One of the first ’boutique luxury’ hotels in Singapore. $45 million was spent to convert a row of 1860’s shophouses and an art deco building into a rather bold and daring hotel.
Today, narrow corridors wind through the building to sumptuously designed rooms with names such as ‘Swank’, ‘Opulent’, ‘Passion’ and ‘Lavish’.
Guest rooms are smaller than average (15-30 m²) but have very comfortable beds and free WiFi. There is a small gym with free weights and an open-air rooftop restaurant and bar.
