About Prague
Prague is a stunning city with a rich cultural history. By the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Prague had become a hotbed of cultural and artistic expression, fostering the Czech National Revival. The dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire after World War I resulted in the emergence of Czechoslovakia, with Prague as its capital.
It's one of Europe's most popular city break destinations, and for good reason. Prague is something of a party city too. The Vinohrady district, particularly around Náměstí Míru, has emerged as the epicenter of Prague's gay nightlife.
The Vltava River meanders through the city, and is lined by picturesque waterfronts and charming neighborhoods. You can walk around Prague fairly easily as it's quite compact, meaning you can explore everything that’s on offer. Wander through the Old Town, the Jewish Quarter and Prague Castle. There are many historic monuments to discover, including Europe's oldest working clock.
