LGBT+ Film Festival Poland 2026  

The 17th edition of the LGBT+ Film Festival Poland will be taking place from April 10 to 18, 2026, in a hybrid format across four Polish cities, with online screenings geo-blocked to Poland. This influential event continues to be one of Central and Eastern Europe's most important cultural showcases of queer cinema, bringing creative and impactful films closer to audiences both in cinemas and at home.  

Festival Focus

The festival features full-length movies, documentaries, and a range of short films (narrative, animated, and documentary) that challenge norms and encourage queer inclusivity. The festival is dedicated to presenting films that reflect the spectrum of LGBTQ+ experiences while addressing social issues that resonate with us all.  

What to Expect 

Enjoy a selection of the best queer cinema from around the world, including premieres from major festivals like Sundance, Toronto, Berlin, and Cannes, alongside accomplished Polish productions. The festival emphasizes films that cross boundaries of mainstream storytelling, revealing new perspectives on identity, human rights, and equality. Alongside screenings, there will be a dynamic program of workshops, panel discussions, and Q&A sessions with international filmmakers.  

Awards & Prizes 

-Audience Award: Voted on by viewers for Best Feature, Best Documentary, and Best Short Film.  
-Igor Ostrowski Award: A €3,000 prize awarded by a professional jury for the Best Feature Film that inspires and challenges perceptions of the world.  

Participation & Submission 

Filmmakers can submit projects produced between 2024 and 2026 with English subtitles. Selected films will be screened in theaters across Poland and online, with all rights and copyright responsibilities managed by the filmmakers. Submissions require detailed information about the project and materials sent within specified deadlines.
