Sissy Ball 2026 – Sydney Mardi Gras' Vogue Event
February (Dates TBC)
Sydney Town Hall, 483 George St, Sydney, New South Wales 2000, Australia, Sydney, Australia

Sissy Ball will return as part of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival in 2026, with dates to be confirmed. First launched in 2018, Sissy Ball has grown into the biggest vogue ball in the Southern Hemisphere, a dazzling showcase of ballroom culture, fashion, dance, and self-expression. It brings together houses from across Australia and Aotearoa to compete on a global stage, filling Sydney Town Hall with drama, music, and unforgettable performances.
A Night of Ballroom Excellence
Audiences can expect fierce battles across runway categories, vogue performance, and high-fashion presentation. Thousands pack into Sydney Town Hall to watch dancers, drag artists, and performers take their place on stage, while DJs keep the energy flowing. With curators like Kianna Oricci leading the event into a new era, Sissy Ball continues to honour Trans and POC voices at the heart of ballroom culture.
Dates
The 2026 date hasn’t been announced yet. Based on the pattern (it’s always during Mardi Gras festival season, late February), Sissy Ball 2026 will almost certainly fall on the last weekend of February 2026 — so likely Friday, 27 February 2026.
History and Legacy
Founded by Legendary Mother Benji Ra in 2018, Sissy Ball bridged Australia’s ballroom scene with international houses. Under the guidance of Godmother Kilia and now Kianna Oricci of the International House of Nina Oricci, the event has become an international platform for queer artistry and political expression. Today, it’s recognised as a highlight of the Mardi Gras calendar and a defining moment for Australia’s LGBTQIA+ performance culture.
Tickets and Venue
Held at Sydney Town Hall, Sissy Ball usually sells out quickly, with tiered pricing for dancefloor access and gallery seating. Tickets typically range from around $69–$109 AUD depending on release stage. Accessible seating, Mobtix options, and low-sensory spaces are available, ensuring the event remains inclusive and open to all.
