TasPride Summer Festival 2026

Welcome to the 2026 TasPride Summer Festival

The TasPride Summer Festival is Tasmania’s most popular LGBTQ+ cultural celebration. Running from January 31st to March 2nd, this month-long festival is set to be the biggest yet, with events spanning the entire island.

Since 1992, TasPride has been one of Australia’s biggest queer events, celebrating diversity, inclusion, and pride. The event started as the Gay and Lesbian Community Centre (GLCC) and has since transformed into a popular festival, committed to creating a safe space where everyone can express their true selves

Festival Highlights

The 2026 program isn’t available yet but the 2025 itinerary featured the following activities:

-Flag Raising Ceremony (January 31) - Kick off the festival as the rainbow flag ascends at Hobart Town Hall, followed by speeches and refreshments.

-Opening Cocktail Party (January 31) - Chill with live music, queer-themed cocktails, and delicious food at Battery Point Community Hall.

-Pride Parade & Party in the Park (February 1) - March through Hobart’s, then enjoy live entertainment, food trucks, and community stalls at Franklin Square.

-Pride Party (February 1) - Party with live DJs, drag performances, and Tasmania’s hottest queer talent at the Cathedral in the Hanging Garden.

-Hobart Queer History Walk (February 2) - Explore Tasmania’s LGBTQ+ past with queer activists.

-Out of the Closet Comedy (February 7) - Laugh along with top queer comedians.

-Drag Bingo (February 23) - Hosted by local drag queens.

-Family Picnic (March 2) - A relaxed, all-ages gathering with games, music, and a pet parade at Parliament Street Reserve.

-Closing Night T-Dance (March 2) - Wrap up the festival with music and a legendary paella feast.
