District Six Museum
25A Buitenkant St, District Six, Cape Town, South Africa

The District Six Museum preserves the stories of a community uprooted by apartheid-era forced removals, offering an intimate and layered look at lived history. The main exhibition space sits inside the historic Methodist Church on Buitenkant Street, with the nearby Homecoming Centre hosting programmes, talks, and events.
Much of the museum’s work takes place beyond its walls, from the open land of District Six to the neighbourhoods where displaced families rebuilt their lives.
