HomoElectric is one of Manchester’s best-known alternative queer club nights, with a long-running reputation for doing things away from the mainstream Gay Village formula.

Music moves across house, disco, techno, and more leftfield dance sounds, with events taking place in underground venues around the city rather than one permanent home. Its own description — a “non-stop off-piste dark discotek” — gets close to the mood: sweaty, late, and aimed at people who prefer their queer nightlife a little less polished.

It’s especially worth knowing if you’re after a dance-focused night with a more underground crowd and a distinctly Manchester edge.
