    The Village Inn

The Village Inn is a long-running gay venue in Birmingham’s Gay Village, newly renovated in 2025 with better sound, staging, and lighting, plus a new outdoor area and private booths.

It’s known for its packed cabaret nights and regular drag acts, with live performances throughout the week. On weekends, Village Underground takes over the basement with resident DJs playing RnB, Garage, and Bashment music until late.

    Unfriendly and arbitrary security staff

Last night my friends and I were banned from entering The Village because the security chief claimed that we were not frequent customers and did not know us, this was the most arbitrary claim to decline people entering an lgbtq + house. An environment that should be inclusive and diverse, bringing together people of all kinds, greets its customers with truculence and disrespect as soon as it arrives at the door. My friends and I had been there several times, it wasn't our first trip to The Village, but it sure will be the last. I recommend people who are interested in fun and respect to look elsewhere, this is definitely not an environment for that.
