Tribe

Tribe is one of Nashville’s best-known LGBTQ+ bars, located on Church Street next to Play Dance Bar, right in the heart of the city’s main gay nightlife strip.

It’s a spacious venue with indoor and outdoor areas, a rooftop terrace, music videos playing throughout and plenty of room to settle in with a drink before the night gets busier. The crowd is mixed and generally younger, with locals, groups of friends and visitors all passing through.

Regular events include trivia, happy hour, drag bingo, karaoke, game-day Saturdays and the very popular Show Tune Sundays. Drinks are strong and reasonably priced by Nashville standards, and the atmosphere is more relaxed than Play next door, making Tribe a good place to start the evening before heading somewhere more dance-heavy.

If Broadway feels a bit overwhelming, Tribe is an easy alternative: still lively, still very Nashville, but with a much more LGBTQ+ crowd.
