Cairns, Australia's tropical gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, offers visitors unparalleled access to two UNESCO World Heritage sites: the reef itself and the ancient Daintree Rainforest. With that, the city serves as the adventure capital of Far North Queensland. While Cairns has a smaller LGBTQ+ scene compared to Australia's major cities, the community is welcoming and inclusive, and the city's tourism-focused atmosphere creates an accepting environment for LGBTQ+ visitors.
