Your Guide to a 24-Hour Party Trip to Barcelona – No Hotel Needed
Fancy an adventure but short on time? Here's the solution.
Want to travel but bound by work? One night is all you need for this sunny, fun-filled adventure. The best remedy for breaking out of a repetitive week is a spontaneous trip. Where better to do it than to one of the most active cities in the world. In 24-hours you can expect culture, nightlife and probably at the end of it all, a hangover, if you do it right.
The time that gets taken to book hotels and activities for a long trip can be costly, time consuming and may not even be possible to fit around your life at the moment, but there is a way to avoid this unnecessary stress while still getting a fun trip. All you need for the next holiday is a return flight and to get excited. This night out will allow you to fully unwind in a new upbeat environment that can be paired with the option of adding a day trip but with no faff. The purpose of this 24-hour trip is to go with the flow and escape from your rigid schedule for a scandalous night, with the added comfort that you’ll be back tomorrow.
Why would anyone want to do this?
Picture it, a morning flight to Barcelona allowing you endless options to spend your exciting day, this could entail soaking up the sun on Playa De La Barcelona or exploring the Sagrada Familia, depending on your idea of a fun holiday. Either way, the goal of a tan will probably be accomplished, someone might even mistake you for a Spaniard!
Embedding yourself in the Spanish culture will come naturally, you’ve only come for the day so no bulky bag will be making you stick out like a sore thumb, you can take your time wandering around a gorgeous city and indulge in delicious Spanish cuisine. Fuel up on a coffee with a side of paella and venture out into your unforgettable night.
Where the real fun begins
Now sunkissed and relaxed you can make your way to the array of enticing cocktail bars around the El Born area. But these are not your ordinary bars, they all come with surprises. My first suggestion comes from the little known fact that it’s not a holiday without a sweet treat. Stop off for dessert and cocktail at Creps al Born, where you can treat yourself to a fresh crepe topped with chocolate accompanied with their flaming cocktail.
Your fiery night continues at the Monk cornershop. A corner shop? Really? Well, open the fridge to find an underground speakeasy that has a classy cocktails lounge that leads into a sparkly disco bar that will get you in the dancing mood.
Where and when am I going to sleep?
It would be a crime to get a hotel to sleep in when you can dance the night away in Barcelona, and Moeem is the perfect place to start. You wont be needing a hotel throughout this trip, instead your night will go from bar-hopping to clubbing to catching a flight . Moeem is a gay bar that is known for a great atmosphere, people, music and of course drinks. This will be the tasty entree of the night that will get you raring for the main course of clubbing.
You're in Spain! Going to the club before 1am would be a sin, which is perfect because it means your hotel for the night can be a beach club seeing that they only close at 6am… In the meantime, Pluma is a perfect stop, they host a monthly alternative drag show that is known to be where the party is at, specifically around June where you could also catch Barcelona Pride that runs from the 17th-19th.
A great option to spend the rest of your night could be Shoko, located in the Olympic Port and also known as the 7th best club in the world is an asian nightclub that will have you losing yourself in the music.
Coming to the end of a long day, have a sit down on the beach, which is the smoking area of Shoko. Enjoy the waves crashing and when you're ready book your uber to the airport. Board your 5am flight and have a well-deserved sleep on your way home.
The Final Step
Arrive home on Sunday, that can be used to relax and reminisce on your heart-racing night. Look forward to the best part of all, which is to gloat to your co-workers when they ask that dreaded question, How was your weekend?
