What Are the Gay Games?

The Gay Games XII Valencia 2026 is a sporting and cultural event promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion. Held every four years, the Gay Games are open to all participants over 18 years old, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, religion, political beliefs, or physical ability.

Founded in 1982 by Olympic athlete Tom Waddell, the Gay Games celebrate athletic excellence and human connection through openness and inclusivity. In 2026, Valencia becomes the proud host city for this global celebration of LGBTQ+ empowerment and participation.
