Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Carnival 2026

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Carnival has announced its theme for 2026. Get ready for glamour, glitter, and Elvis impersonators. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will be transforming into Las Vegas from the 24th of January until the 1st of March. Carnival goers are encouraged to dress in their most extravagant Las Vegas-themed outfits!

What are the carnival events?

For over 20 years, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Carnival has been hosting the 'Drag Queen Gala', which has been billed as the best-established Drag Queen competition. This event is usually held in Santa Catalina Park and sells out quickly. You can expect your favorite drag queens at this show, with RuPaul themselves making a guest appearance in 2008.

All of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Carnival events are very impressive; there is an international body painting competition that people can watch, and the winners receive an invitation to compete at the Klagenfurt World Bodypainting Festival in Austria.

There is an event for everyone throughout this carnival, including families. There is a Junior Throne Gala, where children can express their creativity through serving looks. You can even bring the dog to the celebrations and dress them up to compete in the dog carnival
