    Sitges Carnival 2026

Sitges Carnival returns in 2026 from February 12th to 18th. The event is ranked among the top 10 carnivals globally, attracting over 300,000 people with its beautiful parades, theme parties, and street performances. The festivities begin on February 12th (Jueves Lardero) with the arrival of the Carnival King and culminate on February 18th (Miercoles de Ceniza) with the symbolic Burial of the King, a theatrical procession.

    Events & Parades

-The heart of Sitges Carnival lies in its two legendary parades:

-Rua de la Disbauxa (Sunday, Feb 15, 7:30 PM): An incredible parade of 50+ floats, dancers, and extravagant costumes along the seafront.

-Rua de l’Extermini (Tuesday, Feb 17, 9:00 PM): A wilder, more rebellious counterpart with reversed float order and high-energy.

    Other highlights include:

-Crazy Bed Race (Saturday, Feb 14): Teams race with absurdly decorated beds through town, judged on creativity and speed.

-Gay Carnival Prelude (Feb 10–11): The LGBTQ+ scene launches early with Mantillas Night at Parrots Pub and themed dinners.

-Widows’ Night (Feb 18): Drag queens and mourners dressed in black parade behind the Carnival King’s “funeral,” followed by competitive dinners.

    Why Sitges Carnival Stands Out

Unlike typical February cold, Sitges becomes the Mediterranean’s hottest winter party, drawing LGBTQ+ crowds from every corner of the globe. The town’s compact gay district, centered around Plaza Industria and Calle Bonaire, transforms into an open-air dance floor nightly, with bars like XXL and El Piano. Costumes are non-negotiable, expect everything from bodysuits to fetish leather, with past themes like "Under the Sea" inspiring creativity.
