    Torremolinos Pride

Torremolinos Pride 2025 is set to be a landmark, marking the 10th anniversary of this event. Scheduled from June 5 to June 8, 2025, the festivities will embrace the theme “10 años celebrando la diversidad” (“10 Years Celebrating Diversity”) .

Torremolinos Pride is a vibrant celebration that has rapidly grown since its inception in 2015. Despite Spain's early adoption of gay marriage in 2005, Torremolinos took some time to establish its own Pride event. It has since blossomed into a significant festival, marking its place as a notable event in the annual LGBTQ+ calendar and attracting over 30,000 participants each year.

The vibrant beachside celebration is back in 2025, with Pride celebrations all over Torremolinos.

A Brief History of Torremolinos Pride

Torremolinos has long been an important centre for LGBTQ+ rights in Spain. In the 1960s, the town's Pasaje Begoña became a sanctuary for the LGBTQ+ community, hosting some of the country's first gay bars. Even during a time when homosexuality was still criminalized under Franco’s regime, Torremolinos fostered a more progressive spirit than much of Spain. This progressive reputation laid the groundwork for the inaugural Torremolinos Pride in 2015, which has since evolved into one of Spain's most significant Pride events, celebrating diversity and inclusion with fervor.

    Things to do in Torremolinos

Outside of the Pride celebrations, Torremolinos is worth exploring. Calle San Miguel, the town’s pedestrianized street, is lined with shops, cafes, and boutiques perfect for browsing or enjoying a coffee. Down by the sea, La Carihuela retains some of its charm as a former fishing village, now home to some of the best traditional Andalusian seafood restaurants. If you're looking to unwind, you can head to the Jardín Botánico Molino de Inca, a beautifully landscaped botanical garden with streams, fountains, and a historic mill.

    Unashamedly biased

What sets Torremolinos Pride apart is the tremendous support from the Mayor and the Council and public services. Even the firemen get to soak those on the Parade which is comprised of all the local Gay bars on their individual lorries with men dancing and drag queens in some quite amazing costumes. The Pride celebrations last a week and include many events on the beach and the main town square where there is a stage set up for bands and singers. Everyone turns out to line the streets for the Parade!
