The contemporary-styled Hotel SOHO offers a great base to explore the city and gay nightlife with its great location on Gran Via, only a 10-minute walk from Plaza Catalunya and La Rambla.  
 
Guest rooms are compact (like most hotels in Barcelona) but feature comfortable beds, air conditioning, LCD TV and free WiFi. There is a fabulous rooftop swimming pool and sun terrace. 
 
SOHO offers a pretty good breakfast buffet that includes fresh fruit and juices, pastries, breads, eggs, sausages, etc. A great value-for-money option. Staff are helpful and friendly.

Hotel California

The Gothic, 19th-century exterior hides one of our favorite boutique hotels in the city. &nbsp;Guest rooms are minimalist in style but very comfortable. Each 'room' has two areas (a bedroom and lounge) separated by a corridor, LCD TV, laptop-sized safe, hammock, iPod dock and free WiFi. Most rates include a full breakfast buffet and as many snacks as you like during the day (sandwiches, soup, pastries, bakery, soft drinks, juices, coffee and tea). Nice touch, great location, excellent service and utterly cool!

Casa Camper Hotel Barcelona

Located in the heart of the gay district (steps away from <a title="Open Mind" href="https://www.travelgay.com/venue/open-mind/">Open Mind cruise club</a> and <a title="Sauna Casanova" href="https://www.travelgay.com/venue/sauna-casanova/">Sauna Casanova</a>), the Acevi Villaroel is close to historical sights in Barcelona as well as the Urgell metro station. 
 
We like the hotel's rooftop pool. All the air-conditioned, contemporary-styled rooms feature flat screen satellite TV and free WiFi.
