These hotels are a short walk from the gay bars & clubs in Neil Road and Pagoda Street in Chinatown. The area has a huge choice of restaurants and is close to Marina, Clarke Quay and Orchard Road.

Hotel 1929 earned its credentials as a very gay-friendly hotel by sponsoring the Gay Nation parties many years ago. The fact that it is close to TabooCruise Club and the rest of Singapore’s gay nightlife helps.

One of the first ’boutique luxury’ hotels in Singapore. $45 million was spent to convert a row of 1860’s shophouses and an art deco building into a rather bold and daring hotel.

Today, narrow corridors wind through the building to sumptuously designed rooms with names such as ‘Swank’, ‘Opulent’, ‘Passion’ and ‘Lavish’.

Guest rooms are smaller than average (15-30 m²) but have very comfortable beds and free WiFi. There is a small gym with free weights and an open-air rooftop restaurant and bar.

The Scarlet is just a few minutes’ walk from Tantric gay bar and Taboo, and less than 5 minutes to the nearest MRT station.

Located east of city centre, Bugis is home to hundreds of shops, restaurants and several promenades.
