Located just off Wardour Street, in the alley between Ann Summers and The Village in London's Soho gay district. Friendly Society is a fun and unique basement gay bar with a laid-back vibe.

Great to stop by for a drink and a quick ogle of the gorgeous barmen. Barbie dolls hanging from the ceiling, eclectic lights and black & white movies make the bar a favorite hangout for gay men, lesbians and their straight friends.

Horrible Staff

Terrible option surrounded by much better places in Soho. One bearded bartender in particular ruined our night as he was obnoxious and dirty. Highly recommend spending your money elsewhere.

Soho's Best Kept Secret!

I'm a Londoner and I have to say this is the best bar in soho. In terms of atmosphere and a non judgemental crowd. A variety of guys go here but it does lean towards a more 30-50 age range, but everyone is mixing and just having fun. From twinks, muscle guys and the daddies. People alone and people in groups! They play classics from Donna Summer, Candi Staton, ABBA, Michael Jackson etc etc. Its only a small bar so you may have to queue a little for a drink and the bar staff may not give the best service as they are always rushing. (also a small toilet) but has great seating if you manage to grab one! Have to also mention the amazing interior of all the barbies and action men stuck on the ceiling.

This is a great place; however they have recently increased their cocktail prices from £9 to £10.50........this is a huge jump in price and may now just be their downfall. Always busy but the increase in drink prices will surely change that.

Best kept secret in Soho!

This has to be Soho's best kept secret, a cosy, affordable underground bar full of young, gorgeous guys, kitsch interior and a chilled, laid out ambiance. There's Barbie dolls on the ceiling and Bette Davis and Judy Garland playing on a projector screen in the corner. Great place to meet friends before going on to the gay clubs. I love the Friendly Society!
