The Vault is a brooding gay cruise club in Provincetown's bustling West End area. This is where you'll find leather-clad men in dark corners, as adult videos play on the TV.
Check out the (mostly mature) men, or take in some eye-candy as one of the hot bartenders fixes you a stiff drink.

Dick Dock is one of the best-known gay cruising spots in Provincetown. Located beneath the waterfront deck of the Boatslip Resort, this legendary P-town spot has long been associated with discreet nighttime encounters.
The area tends to come alive after the Boatslip’s famous Tea Dance, when crowds spill out into Provincetown for the evening. After dark, some head down to the beach beneath the deck, where the combination of sand, shadows and the sound of the waves creates a surprisingly secluded setting right in the heart of town.
And yes, the footprints in the sand can sometimes give you a pretty good indication of how busy the night before was. Occasionally there are kneeprints too. Use your imagination.
Where is Dick Dock?
Dick Dock is directly beneath the deck of the Boatslip Resort on Commercial Street, Provincetown’s main waterfront thoroughfare.
The Boatslip’s large deck extends out over the beach, leaving a sheltered sandy area underneath. This space beneath the deck is what locals and regular visitors refer to as Dick Dock.
Its location is particularly convenient if you’ve already been at the Boatslip Tea Dance, and it’s also within easy walking distance of Provincetown’s gay bars, restaurants and nightlife along Commercial Street.
How to Get to Dick Dock
Head to the Boatslip Resort
Make your way to the Boatslip on Commercial Street. It’s one of Provincetown’s best-known LGBTQ+ venues and home to the hugely popular daily Tea Dance.
Walk towards the waterfront
Head to the rear of the property, towards the beach and the Boatslip’s waterfront deck.
Go down to the beach
Look for beach access leading to the sandy area around and beneath the deck. The sheltered section underneath is commonly known as Dick Dock.
Visit after dark
Dick Dock is primarily a nighttime cruising spot. Activity generally picks up later in the evening, particularly after the Tea Dance and as Provincetown’s nightlife gets going.
When is Dick Dock busiest?
Summer is naturally the busiest period for gay cruising in Provincetown, particularly during major LGBTQ+ weekends and events. Warm evenings following the Boatslip Tea Dance tend to attract the most people.
As with any cruising area, the atmosphere can vary considerably from one night to the next. Be respectful of others, pay attention to consent and personal boundaries, and remember that discretion is part of the appeal.
