Kansas City Pride 2024: parade, dates and hotels

Kansas City Pride 2024 takes place in June. You're not in Kansas anymore, Dorothy! This is the native home of she-who-wore-the-ruby-shoes, so it's a fitting place to celebrate Pride.

The Pride Parade is a highlight, featuring a colorful procession with floats, bands, and community groups marching through prominent city streets, fostering visibility and celebration of diversity. Meanwhile, PrideFest hosts a variety of entertainment options, including live music performances, food vendors, and activities that create a festival atmosphere enjoyable for attendees of all ages.

Additional events during the celebration may include workshops, talks, and social gatherings designed to provide information, support, and networking opportunities for the LGBTQ+ community. These events are also geared towards advocacy and education, promoting equal rights and understanding.

The fun is expected to start at 11:00 am on Saturday, starting from the intersection of Westport Rd. & Broadway Blvd. It will journey southward along Broadway, seamlessly transitioning onto Mill Creek Parkway. From there, it takes a left turn onto Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd., proceeding until it reaches the finale at Theis Park. Admission to the parade is free of charge.
