Started in 2009, Shanghai Pride was the first large LGBT event that took place in mainland China.

The ShanghaiPRIDE Film Festival (ShPFF) is a celebration of queer cinema and LGBT filmmakers in association with the annual Shanghai Pride event.
ShPFF has provided a platform for the LGBT community and friends to come together to show their support and celebrate diversity. The film festival takes place for 10 days, showcasing queer films from China and worldwide.
