Island Safari Lodge

Island Safari Lodge is set on a 300 acre private island reserve, just 10 km from Maun Airport. Situated on the banks of the Thamalakane River under a canopy of beautifully lush and green Okavango trees, the lodge overlooks an expansive natural floodplain which, when not flooded, is used by the community as subsistence lands for farming and grazing. This coming together of two worlds combines the traditional uses of the nearby cultural urbanisation and an abundance of birdlife, topped by the occasional sightings of crocodile or hippo. sland Safari Lodge offers comfortable accommodation nestled in a lush garden. Well spaced out, each room has a lovely view across the tree-lined garden towards the river. The twelve thatched chalets stand alone, shaded by the foliage of the overhanging trees. Each has twin beds, an en suite bathroom, air-conditioning and satellite TV. The six adjoining Heritage rooms and the six adjoining Heritage Family rooms each have a small veranda where you can sit back and relax. All rooms have twin beds, en suite showers, air-conditioning and satellite TV. The Heritage Family rooms include bunk beds for the children. The lodge offers a tranquil bush setting, complimented by the river view, a swimming pool and the iconic call of the African fish eagle.
