Kinky Bar is an upscale and fashionable gay bar in the heart of Mexico City’s Zona Rosa.
Over two floors the bar has three different themed areas: one replicating the classic style of a Mexican cantina, complete with kitschy decor and fun Latino music; a glass karaoke bar for those that want to put on a show; and a gorgeous smoking terrace overlooking the Paseo de la Reforma.
The crowd here is young and sexy, there’s a good mix of guys and girls too. This is where the young crowd comes to party.
This isn’t a dive bar so don’t expect a cheap night, but Kinky is a great place to drink and dance in and definitely worth the charge.

Tom’s is somewhat of an insititution in Ciudad de México, and you won’t find another cruise or leather bar of its kind in the city. It’s also one of the few gay bars outside of Zona Rosa.
This joint is known for being the closest thing Mexico has to San Fran’s infamous leather and kink scene.
The interiors are dark and gothic, with several screens dotted around showing adult films. There’s also a dark room that can get exciting.
Tom’s crowd is surprisingly mixed; you’d expect a host of older macho men but that’s not the case. Everyone is welcome here, regardless of tribe.
Weekends are always popular and this place can get quite busy! Expect tabletop go-go dancers and strippers. Tuesdays are also great as admission is free and there’s some ridiculous drinks deals.

BoyBar is a great gay bar and dance club in the heart of Zona Rosa.
Its also surprisingly big: there’s three levels each with its one vibe and DJ.
On one floor there’s electronic and house music, another plays Top 40 chart, and another is a ridiculously fun karaoke party.
Male strippers appear throughout the night and reviewers have mentioned that they seem to get hotter and hotter as the night goes on, but this could just be the cheap drinks!
A few insider tips: this place is just for guys, so maybe not the venue to visit with your girlfriends. Also, BoyBar can be quite strict on entry, so once your in you’re in for good.

Recently having undergone a huge reconstruction, Drrama by 42 (formerly the 42nd Street Cafe) is still one of Zona Rosa’s favourite bars.
The interiors have a trendy rough-around-the-edges look, feeling rustic and raw.
The crowd is mixed and you can find a variety of regulars and young people at Drrama – it’s always busy as there’s no cover charge.
There’s always something happening as well! Every night you’ll see live music, karaoke, drag shows or comedy.

Nicho is a great spot for cruising, there’s a wealth of older bears here looking for someone to enjoy a few hours with.

You haven’t done Mexico if you haven’t tried mezcal, and La Botica is the place to go.
They claim to be one of Mexico City’s oldest mezcalerías and we wouldn’t doubt them! They’ve been serving the gay community of CDMX for years.
There’s over 50 mezcal cocktails to choose from at La Botica, and is a great place to start of your night.
They close a bit earlier than the other bars, but get packed to the roof when they are open.
