Group Trip Breakdown

Day 1: Arrival in Las Vegas

To begin your trip, you’ll meet with your fellow travellers and tour guide in Las Vegas itself. Tonight you can spend the evening at your leisure, after a quick introduction from the tour guide of course. Celebrate your first night in style, or get an early night to prepare for the week ahead – the choice is yours.

Day 2: Lees Ferry to Badger Creek Rapids

Expect an early start today as we’re off to begin our adventure. We’ll be catching a bus to Lees Ferry, located where the Paria River meets the Colorado River, this ferry offers quick access to the Grand Canyon. En route we’ll pick up any gear we may need along the way, before arriving at the Colorado River for lunch. Look forward to seeing one of the canyon’s most iconic inhabitants, the Great Blue Heron, before we approach the Badger Creek Rapids. After taking in some geology and history from your tour guide, we’ll find a beach to set up camp for the night ahead.

Day 3: Anasazi Ruins

Wake up to a hearty cooked breakfast before heading back on the raft. Just 2 miles down the river lies the Roaring Twenties, a section of river encompassing a number of rapids in quick succession. Once the rapids have woken you up, we’ll stop at the South Canyon to embark on a short hike to the Anasazi Indian ruins. These Indian ruins are home to the magnificent Cliff Palace, as well as being littered with 700-year old pottery shards. After you’ve explored the ruins we’ll head to the Redwall Cavern, where you’ll have the choice to climb the rock, or just absorb some of its natural beauty. To wind down the evening, dinner will be served fresh from a Dutch-oven on the river.

Day 4: Sipapu

Once again we’ll start the day with a delicious breakfast, after which we’ll be travelling downstream to Nankoweap Canyon. Then we’ll hike to an even bigger Anasazi/Hisatsinom ruin, to take in more breathtaking views. After an impressive hike, we’ll be officially entering the Grand Canyon. Look forward to some of the most challenging rapid today, with the water dropping 25 feet along the course.

Day 5: Hance Rapids

Rafting enthusiasts prepare yourself as today we’ll be encountering the biggest rapids on this trip, the Hance Rapids. The route includes many twists and turns, as well as a massive 30 foot drop. Take a short break to enjoy the scenery as the rapids briefly thin out. Soon enough though we’ll approach the Sockdolager Rapid, the Grapevine Rapids, Pipe Spring Rapids, Granite Rapids, Horn Creek Rapids and the scary Hermit Rapids. After an exciting day of rafting you’ll have the chance to hike up Shinumo Creek to a small waterfall. Relax by the tranquillity of the water before settling in for the night.

Day 6: Stone Creek

Today we’ll be spending the day hiking. Look forward to exploring the Elves Chasm, Blacktail Canyon and Stone Creek. We’ll also briefly visit the Dubendorff Rapids, which offer some of the most beautiful sights the Grand Canyon has to offer. In the evening, you’ll enjoy another dinner cooked beside the campfire.

Day 7: Lava Falls Rapids

Start the day off right with another cooked breakfast before we raft the Upset Rapids, which are known for their formidable nature. We’ll also pass by the Hualapai Indian Reservation on our way to the next location. The afternoon will consist of several hikes in the National Canyon and lunch at the Fern Glen Rapids. After lunch we’ll be discovering the famous Lava Falls Rapids, before unwinding with dinner and drinks back at camp.

Day 8: Pumpkin Springs

Today you’ll visit Pumpkin Springs, a warm water spring nestled in the canyon. Take in some scenery as you lunch, as this will be your last night on the river. Tonight expect to indulge in a delicious farewell dinner before settling down for the night.

Day 9: Canyon's End

Round off your gay group trip at the picturesque Lake Mead. This lake is ideal for a spot of swimming, as the rapids of the Colorado River can’t be spotted from here. Next, we’ll be travelling in style on a speedboat, which will deliver us to the bus to take us to Las Vegas. Spend the evening at a nearby restaurant/bar, before catching one of Las Vegas’s famous shows, or simply enjoying the renowned casino.
