Shanghai Gay Bars & Dance Clubs

Shanghai Gay Bars & Dance Clubs

Shanghai's gay nightlife changes quickly but remains small for a city of its size. There's a good choice of gay-popular bars with something for everyone.

上海的同性恋圈子在这几年逐渐扩大,但以上海市的大小来对比,任然算是小的。虽然如此,上海同志圈内还是有许多夜间场所来迎合不同人的口味。

ANGEL organises popular large gay dance parties with guest DJ’s, dancers and shows.

Gay bar in the heart of Shanghai’s ‘gaybourhood’. This 3rd generation of Asia Blue has a French Provincial look, with lots of comfy sofas and strong bar stools, and a full wall of windows overlooking Huashan Street.

The owner Andy Wong who speaks English and his team offer a warm welcome and friendly service. 上海长宁区华山路1557号二楼

The bar is located next to Lucca Bar. The 2nd floor of Lucca opens on a terrace which connects to Asia Blue.

The Japanese-styled RICE Bar is a great place to chill out and make new friends. The contemporary environment is popular with both gay Westerners and Asians.

The rather cute bar staff are pretty good at mixing your favorite cocktail, too! Occasional themed party nights.

Not a typical gay nightclub. Lai Lai Dance Hall provides a uniquely Chinese way for older gay men to discreetly meet and dance.

Chinese pop classics get blasted out in this rather run-down venue. Customers come here not for the music or the environment, but to feel comfortable in a place where they can show their genuine feelings.

Lai Lai affords a generation of gay men (many of whom are married) a few hours to be themselves. Understanding foreigners are most welcome.
