Ever reliable

The last time I've been there was June 2019. I had one of the best sauna experiences there so I kept on cumming back. The guys there were so accommodating, so into the game and really know how to have fun. I was so excited to realize that there's so just many guys out there who want to unleash their wild side. The steam room didn't fail me. It was always where my fun started.

Clean but rude staff

Sauna is new and clean. When it first opens doors it was pretty busy but not anymore. Staff are rude; would hesitate to return.

Worst service of ANY sauna I have been (and I have been to a lot)

One just doesn't expect to feel being actively insulted by the staff in a gay sauna, does one? Even as there should be little inactions between them and us clients, this place has managed remarkably well to make one feels unwelcome. I have been a (reluctant) supporter of this place since it opened. It is new and clean, which I like sometimes more than the crowd. So I kept coming back despite the marked decline in the quality of their clients (mostly refugees from two nearby saunas specialized in really chubby and older guys), and many a times I have brought friends with me. I am sure the owners and their staff "noticed" my patronage, but while I don't expect to be treated differently, one just can't get over with their constant unpleasant attitudes. Incidents include - one time I was just standing in front of the wet area chatting with a friend. The space is wild enough for people to pass by but us being there obviously upset this one staff member so much he went all the way to come and scold us for "blocking the way". When I said "scold" I don't mean a polite reminder at all. Another time I brought a friend visiting from overseas with me, and while just hanging out in the TV room I gave him a can of soda I happened to have in my backpack to drink. (This place doesn't service free drinks like a few others) I haven't noticed any sign that said no outside drinks/foods were allowed. When he finished we walked out and just sat another corner chatting, forgetting the can and leaving it on the coffee table. Then that same guy I mentioned above picked up the empty, walked toward us and holding the can up and said, "is that yours?" in the most condescending way and with such attitude that I just had to laugh. Then came this weekend. Now I would only go for "dates" that I have arranged as I had no expectation of picking anyone hot up anymore. At the reception was another young cub full of attitudes who took your money like you owed him. He mumbled something about being "nude day" and no towel, big or small, was allowed in any area except the shower. Which if you think about it it just freaking defies common sense since we all know how messy it can get during and after playful times in the rooms sometimes when tissue papers are just not enough, especially with the low quality ones they provide. In any case I stripped and headed to the bathroom as I wanted to use it before taking a shower. Since it was occupied I retreated to the TV room with my small towel to wait. This very "dutiful" young cub immediately got on my case, stood in front of me and with his prissy attitudes in full force, "no towel is allowed here." I would bother and explain I was just waiting to use the bathroom if he wasn't sounding like Faye Dunaway playing Joan Crawford in Mommie Dearest. I gave him a hard stare and he immediately shot back, "you either put this towel back or throw it into the towel basket." At this point if I wasn't expecting a friend I would have just walked. While I stood up and walked toward the locker room I heard him , "you don't need to come back here you know" in Cantonese. And that needs to be the most abusive and insulting thing any customer services staff can say to a patron, in particularly a regular. No not really, not with this place that the only selling point remains is its "cleanliness". I won't even say "value" anymore as the constant price cutting reflects the sad fact that the clients they have been trying to attract - beefy, muscled men and bears like me - are bailing and all you get mostly are a gang of sauna rejects that have nowhere else left to go. I wish them luck and I shall never return.

No towel day ( Sundays )

First time visit Gongguan on Sunday (4 March 2018). Entrance fee come down to HK$ 100, arrived at 13:30, found at least 20-30 meaty but not necessarily big tummy guys. Yummy. Fantastic experience . Worth to go.

Going down the drain

What the other reviewers are saying here is very true! I travel to HK very often and when I have time, (used to) pop into this sauna, which is nicely designed and clean, agreed. Around Nov 2017 I learned they have different charges depending on the time of day and day of week. That's cool, but obviously I can't remember all their charges, so I always call before going. (Makes no sense to pay a certain rate and then find out it goes down 50% after another 5 or 10 minutes.) I'm not sure if this is what annoyed the middle-aged receptionist there, but on one such visit in early Dec the guy adamantly refused me entry, saying the sauna was closed for a private party. (Alarm bells starting ringing in my head as it was clearly shades of Hutong, formerly Double! Why couldn't he have just told me about the closure over the phone?). The younger receptionist standing next to the older one had a very sorry look on his face, as if to say he knew the older guy was lying. I left. Later that night, I messaged one of the sauna's partner-owners, and he confirmed the sauna wasn't closed. I explained to him this and a couple of other previous incidents (not related to door entry) and he quite politely said he would look into it. A week later, I messaged him again. No reply. End of Dec, I tried again. Still no reply. Whether he simply opted to stand on his staff's side, or he doesn't care for my business, it's a pity that customer service at this sauna is obviously going down fast. I have no intention to return, at least until I hear back from them. In fact, another tourist I met at another sauna here was asking for recommendations... I did not mention Gong Cuan.

Modern sauna

I visited this place on a Wednesday night. Just go into the dingy building and press 3 in the lift, or you can walk up the stairs. Crowd was reasonable at 6pm, although I was seeing many people leaving already. Facilities are nice and modern, not a big place, but overall not bad. Did not see any westerners. Having just visited China, I certainly felt the patrons in HK were less friendly. I am Chinese from overseas. There is a price listed for foreign visitors on their Facebook page, and the entry person wanted to charge me more than this. Only when I seemed a bit hesitant, then he changed the price to what was stated. I see no evidence that this place is targeted for mature/ bears.

Gong Guan sauna

I am a French guy in my late 20's, not bad looking. Went to this sauna last night, October 5 around 8pm. The place is as described very very clean, beautiful, but......there where about 10 Asian guys not too bad and all extremely hostile towards me. It was so obvious that when I was taking a shower they would quickly go somewhere else and when I entered the steamroom they would leave. There was no activity between them also. Maybe it was an off night, I don't know. But I will not go there again I did not feel welcome at all. I even had the feeling the guy at the front desk was glad I left.

Decent sized, clean, quality crowd

Being that this is a new place, it is considerably clean and well kept. Some forums online has described this place to be targeted at mature bears and their fans. This is true. I was there on a Saturday afternoon, though not super crowded, had a quality pool of local dad bods and bears. According to one listing online it stated that they accept credit cards but was told at the door, there is a minimum of $200 for card payments, which is way over the entrance fee. They did relent because I had no cash on me. So, still good to come with cash if you can. This is after all, Hong Kong, where cash is preferred.
