After loyally serving the gay community for 20 years, Paris Gym has closed its doors at then end of June 2015. Its Vauxhall railway arch home has been taken over by developers.
Opened in 1995, Paris Gym was originally run as (London’s only) exclusively gay gym. In recent years, the situation for gay people in London has dramatically improved, so Paris dropped it ‘gay only’ policy and is now a ‘male only’ gym. However, the vast majority of its customers are gay who take working out very seriously.
Paris gym is over 8,000 ft², fully air-conditioned, with 74 weight training machines, 21 pieces of cardio, a massive free-weights area with dumbbells up to 60 kgs. There is also a small sauna, sun bed and massage room. A café bar sells protein shakes and drinks.
Daily and weekly rates are available for tourists.

Blown away by the friendliness
“Travelled to london for Christmas and thought I'd take a break from the shops and grass to the gym. WOW!!! Friendly staff and the other guys in the gym so welcoming too. I had reservations about a "gay" gym. but you know what.....this gym is just a great very friendly gym. No overt "gayness" if you know what I mean. No cruising which is great. It has the best equipment selection I've seen outside of LA - hardcore bodybuilding equipment in a soft environment - quite unique. The guys who run this place know what they're doing. And they allow members to bring dogs and have a special area for them with chain on the wall - amazing.“
