Travel Gay Reviews of Sauna ‘t HerenhuisLeave Review

  1. G Gilles
    Vieux et mal équipé

“Friendly welcome, welcoming bar, good food. Sunday is crowded. On the other hand, for action, very average. Ground floor: a large room with 4 mattresses on the floor. Everyone looks at each other. Sometimes a couple gets into action in public but no one sees them. Just showing off. Second floor: cabins without even a mattress or gel/condoms. No ventilation, it stinks and it's sordid. TV room: uncomfortable and dated. Sling: we claw at chains that have sharp angles. On the cruising side, it turns endlessly, not seeing much action or two guys locking themselves in a cabin. Definitely a place to avoid. Too bad for a big city.“

    Good First experience

“This was my first experience in a sauna. I was nervous considering some of the reviews, however it was a good experience. The staff were polite and friendly, and the facilities were pretty clean. The whole building is pretty warm, which was a little overwhelming to start with, but I quickly adjusted and started to enjoy the warmth more. My only critique would be that more directional signage would be good (eg: bathrooms this way, change rooms upstairs), and that the spa bath was slightly hotter. In terms of the guys that attend, it was a mix of ages, body types and ethnicities—which definitely helped me to feel more comfortable.“

    Fijne sauna

“The place is a nice sauna cozy and always nice guests to play with. Not the most modern sauna, but mansion does have atmosphere.“

Very unfriendly staff, the few who f#ck it up for everyone

“I used to be a regular customer who would meet friends here & relax but after being treated so badly by the staff & finally being asked to leave after no explanation, I called it a day and so did 10+ other guys that used to come here. I sent an email asking for an explanation but never got a reply, the person who was super rude was some flaky jumped up queen, i will never go back to this place to be treated like this. Funnily enough for a gay sauna that is owned by a woman who is totally clueless about customer service, when this place closes which it will - it will be a good thing too. Let's hope someone with more common sense opens a new sauna in Antwerp. Sadly Antwerp is fast becoming a boring destination for the pink pound or euro.“

Dirty d Dirty Dirty, Unkind workers.

“People playing everywhere and you find poop everywhere in the swimming pool, in the jacuzzi, in the steambath. It makes me feel sick.
I hope soon will be another sauna in Antwerp, to forget this one.“

    waar heeft men het over??

“I occasionally come there once in a while, and it is one of my favorite saunas that I like to visit. I have never seen any staff foolish or rude. They respond neatly and experience, as well as ordering the drinks. Are the negatives talking about the Herenhuis in Antwerp? And I visit various gay saunas in Belgium and the Netherlands, well then there are saunas that are really bad. Herenhuis Antwerpen is highly recommended.“

    Sauna herenhuis

“Last night there, we are a regular sauna visitor, but what you find there... small, dirty, urine-smelling basement where the sauna part is located. The large bubble bath, loose tiles, edge very greasy and dirty, the "the white" overflow mats are dirty and full of fungi. At different places you see rust. If you take the stairs you have dirt on your feet, not to mention the stairs to changing room and playrooms. The only positive thing is that the sauna is working well. It is high time that there has to be renewed, I think had to check hygiene that this place would be closed immediately.“

OMG how unfirndly can you be?

“I mean, most sauna's and cruiseclub have staff who think they are king, but this was THE MOST ARROGANT AND UNFRIENDLY guy I have ever met. (Tattoos, skinny and piercings). I will never be coming back.“

  9. G Gerrie
    Onvriendelijk deel van het personeel

“Certain employees are very unfriendly, even against their own subscribers. It is certainly not recommended, the quality is clearly taking off and the age category is on the rather high side.“

  10. P Pieter
    Rude staff

“Staff really rude to clients, to answer whatever questions we might have, to sell drinks, everything. Cabins were extremely hot and small. Big beds were stained. Really expensive but not worth it.“

  11. T Tito
    unclean and UNfriendly staff

“Located way out of the city-center. Staff is arrogant and unfriendly. No slippers, and carpet! Watch out for fungi.“

    It was great!!!

“I visited this sauna on 14 December 2017. Everything was very good. Everywhere is clean and cozy. The staff was very friendly. I highly recommend it.“

  13. J Joe

“Very convenient location in a big building with the name of house which leads to easily found. Decided to went in for 1 night stop over in Antwerp since very closed to hotel where I stayed, welcoming was a plain unfriendly attitude same goes to the time when I order the drinks ( payable, not free ) the attitude was still there. So decided to forget about it since the main aim to visit sauna is not for the staff friendliness but the crowd is matter, it was crowd on weekend with range of age, perhaps due to many stairs to climb so not so many elder guy around, the building was big with 3 or 4 story level furnished with Carpet on the stairs that make it a bit like a Castle or Palace! Even better than sauna Macho in Brussels, at least based on my experience. If the staff treated all visitor equally, all 5* on this review would be done!“

  14. D Darren

“After extensive renovations, the cleanest and busiest sauna in Antwerp. Lively steambath, big swimming pool, and a lot of action in the showers as well. No idea when Sergej was here, but I haven't seen any carpets anywhere and I've been coming to Antwerp for five years!

Some of the staff are friendly, but the two older guys in their thirties are downright rude. Better stay in the basement, where the fun is. Oh, and I hate the jacuzzi because it is cleaned with smelly products every damn day. Steambath, pool and shower maze is where the action is.“

    This Sauna

“No slippers to buy. You have to go on the dirty floor without shoes. All carpets are old and dirty. The cabins are old and dirty. Am totally shocked!!!!!“
