Queer Parkfest Friedrichshain (formerly LesBiSchwule Parkfest) is one of Berlin’s longest-running (since 1998) and most beloved LGBTQ+ festivals, attracting over 6,000 visitors each year. It is held annually on the second Saturday of August, in 2025 the festival will take place on August 9 at Freiluftkino Friedrichshain, an open-air cinema in Volkspark Friedrichshain.

With free admission, live performances, and a welcoming community atmosphere, this festival celebrates queer culture while supporting activism and inclusivity.

What to Expect in 2025

The festival offers a diverse program and range of activities from 3 PM to 10 PM, featuring:

-Live music, drag shows, and DJs on the main stage

-Informational booths from LGBTQ+ organizations, clubs, and political groups

-Cinema screenings at the iconic open-air venue

-Picnic-friendly spaces to relax and enjoy Berlin’s summer vibe

After the festival, the Parkfest Afterparty keeps the high-energy atmosphere going with all-night dancing and performances at nearby venues.

Freiluftkino Friedrichshain offers a casual environment with benches, cushions, and snack stands all around. The surrounding Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg districts offer an alternative to Berlin’s traditional gay district (Schöneberg), with:
