Palermo / Palermo Soho

Palermo is a huge barrio in Buenos Aires, taking up the vast majority of the Downtown area.

Porteños tend to unofficially subdivide this barrio into several smaller ones, Palermo Soho is where most of the gay action takes place but we also have some hotels in Palermo Hollywood and Pacifico.

Palermo Soho is beautifully bohemian and young. Streets are lined with urban art and there’s plenty of new boutique shops and incredible gay nightlife destinations; this is where fashion and innovation come to play.

Why this hotel?: Stylish and homely. Great location for local nightlife and culture.

Sissi Haz is a rustic boutique hotel in the bohemian Palermo Soho district. It only has 5 rooms, so it’s ideal if you’re looking for somewhere intimate and homely.

There are many attractions surrounding the hotel. Gay bar Peuteo is a 5-minute walk to the north and you also have Sitges and Amerika down the road to the south.

It’s one of the most popular Latin American hotels on Travel Gay.

Palo Santo Hotel is one of the most fashionable and chic hotels in Buenos Aires, we loved their mix of clean wood, lush greenery and contemporary industrial chic.

There’s a rooftop infinity pool and terrace, coffee bar and fine dining restaurant. It is the first sustainable urban hotel in Latin America, according to LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) guidelines.

The rooms are comfortable and clean. Many come with private balconies. Some of the larger suites have the dimensions of a private apartment.

An affluent barrio just next to Palermo which houses the Buenos Aires rich and famous.

In Recoleta you’ll find incredible mansions, gorgeous 5* hotels and some incredible culture and nightlife.

San Nicolás / Puerto Madero

San Nicolás and Puerto Madero are two barrios close to the centre of Buenos Aires, just underneath Recolta.

San Nicolás, often referred to as ‘El Centro’ is one of the busiest areas of the city. Some fun facts: Avenida 9 de Julio is the widest street in the world, and El Obelisk, an iconic monument has been guised with many fun decorations over the years including a gigantic pink condom!

Puerto Madero is the old dock that has recently been regenerated. You’ll find endless gourmet eateries (the steakhouses are our favorite) and monolithic high-rises. There’s also a huge nature reserve that’s great for getting a breath of fresh air from the city.

Why this hotel?: Close to the waterfront. In the heart of a cultured barrio.

This 3-star hotel in the middle of the city is a great choice for gay travelers.

Facon Grande is located in San Nicolás barrio, one of the busiest regions in the city and home to Flux Bar.

Onsite there’s a restaurant in which you can enjoy a meal after a long day, they also serve breakfast in the morning.

Each of the 27 rooms have a comfortable and clean ambience, with wall art bringing pops of colour.
