A West Hollywood gay sports bar showing all the major games. You can watch baseball games and check out some excellent eye candy.

It’s a laidback bar – masc for masc, you could say. This is a real sports bar, so do spare a thought for the odd straight guy who might be taking a while to figure out what’s going on. You can head to the cellar bar as the night progresses and get a little more sweaty, if the mood takes you.

Beaches WeHo is one of the newer additions to West Hollywood’s gay scene. It’s in a great location. There’s a lot of seating inside and a smaller outdoor patio. The Pina Coladas taste pretty great! This is a worthy addition to the gaybourhood.

It takes the form of a hybrid restaurant and lounge. The lively decor celebrates the style of 80s Miami and the motto is to “be wild and free and look good doing it.”

North Hollywood

North Hollywood (NoHo) is southeast of San Fernando Valley. It’s less of a go-to destination than its more famous neighbours, but it does boast affordable rents which are certainly hard to come by in LA!

No-attitude bar in North Hollywood and a casual hangout that serves food and hosts live events. Enjoy cheap beer and the dark leathery interior while partaking in one of the regular karaoke or movie nights.

The large patio houses a GEARWORXX custom leather and gift shop on the weekends. The Bullet is a stomping ground for several gay subcultures, but it’s popular among the leather fetish community.

Venice/Venice Beach

Venice is a buzzing district in LA. It has an artsy vibe and it’s home to the well known Venice Beach. It’s bordered by Santa Monica and Marina del Rey. If you’re in LA you’ll probably end up in Venice at some point. It’s a rather cool area.

A long-standing kitschy gay bar in Venice. This delightful dive bar has served the area for over 40 years with drinks, pool tables, jukebox tunes and local artwork.

A rustic wood and brick décor punctuated by beer signs, cowboy paintings, and rotating exhibits of homoerotic art creates an atmosphere that’s welcoming and sexy.

A perfect match for the outgoing  patrons who stop in day and night to hang out at the bar or play darts and video games in the back. It has a famous old-school men’s bathroom ceiling with some none-too-subtle adult images.

Roosterfish lives up to its inclusive slogan: “We’re a neighbourhood gay bar, but Los Angeles is a very big neighbourhood.”

Established in 2016, The Birdcage Venice Beach is one of the most popular new gay bars in Santa Monica, LA. The decor is chic, as are the clientele. There’s a fab selection of cocktails too.

If you want to see and be seen on the gay scene in LA, this is a great spot to be in. Expect lots of house music. If you’d like a bit of peace and quiet you can chill on the patio. The drinks aren’t cheap but they sure taste good. Try La Rosa Blanca, if you’re a cocktail fan. You won’t be disappointed.

Pasadena

Pasadena is a city within Los Angeles County (in San Gabriel Valley). It’s about a 40-minute drive from Santa Monica.

Gay-popular bar in Pasadena area. The Boulevard has karaoke, a pool table, drag shows and a bar patron’s holy grail: a heavy pour for a cheap price.

There is a nice patio at the back. The excellent karaoke system comes complete with LCD projection and video monitors throughout. Come by and sing with some of the friendliest DJ’s in Southern California.

Located a little off-the-beaten path and far outside WeHo’s party orbit, this longstanding Pasadena joint remains a favorite among locals, young and old.
