“I just visited after 6 years of not being there. I can tell you the whole place is derelict and unsanitary. The cabins and cruise areas are ok, but they have not kept up the steam rooms. They smell really bad and are very untidy and unclean. There is plaque on the tiles on the wall and floor. I do not recommend.“

“As sauna Casanova is promoting their services very highly and as modern gay sauna me and my friends were really disappointed after visiting it at midnight. We payed 18€ per person and been told there is cca. 20 people in sauna. When we entered facility, places were up to date and not at all modern, stuff at cashier unfriendly and not able to communicate in English. There were almost no people and those who were there in short time offered their services (escorts and drug dealers). There were two sauna, one of them barely standing as doors wouldn't close. The other one we entered shortly and left after smell hits us. No condoms, no napkins, no lubricants. Definitely wouldn't recommend to any guys wanting to have some fun.“

Rent Men everywhere
“Me and my boyfriend visited the sauna on Thursday around 11pm. Full of scum rent men looking like a cons fellow prisoners(all covered with bad tattoos and not even good looking )asking for money. We’ve stayed around an hour and left. No atmosphere, or decent men behaviour.“

“I have been there 3 times. It is the most visited sauna in Barcelona. But the owners are pretty greedy. There is a yearly gay festival in Barcelona which is called Circuit. They have increased the entrance price from 18 euros to 30 euros during this festival even though there were no special events in the sauna during this festival. They just want to rip off the gay visitors as much as possible. Even though the price is almost doubled, they didn't even clean the toilets. Most toilets didn't even have proper seats to sit on them and they were extremely dirty.“

Propre mais très cher !
“The places are impeccable. My husband and I went for the first time today. 30 € each: it's the most expensive sauna in Europe I think! It was free for under 25s as every Thursday. Result: gangs of girlfriends who seem to be interested only in themselves. The staff very often goes to clean the premises. We can still have relations with hot men! You have to see how things are in the evenings and on the weekends.“

Never again. Dirty and completely run-down facilities.
“Been here before, but this Sunday for sure was my last visit ever.
I think this was the most disgusting and dirty sauna I have ever been (In Europe and Asia). There was poo on the ground near the pool and it was brushed away dry, so the stains stayed all evening. YUCKS.
- extremely dirty (part of the group Sauna Passes, well learn from ur branch Sauna Barcelona wish is very clean).
- the jacuzzi near the bar area was broken and didn't function.
- the jacuzzi/jets in the plunge pool downstairs were broken an didn't function.
- the complete wet area (sauna, steam room and showers) need a complete renovation, even better renewed. Worn out to the max, even 4 years ago it was already bad, imagine how it looked now.
- smoking everywhere, even in the sauna and steam room, I couldn’t believe my eyes, disgusting to the max!!
- staff at the door very unfriendly, what a difference with Sauna BRUC and Sauna Barcelona!!
I’m thinking for quite some time no, but didn’t find one item to mention....Owh ya, there were more people then in Sauna Barcelona, but not really much was happening also...
For the Management:
This sauna is a disgrace for Barcelona and Group Passes. No wonder so many people are extremely negative about the saunas in BCN when you check online.
This place needs a complete make over and renovation. Non of the jacuzzis working (from what I have been told by local visitors, something you guys know all to well, but still charging 20EUR entrance!?).
Take down all non smoking signs as you guys don’t do anything when people are smoking in front of staff anyway. It's a problem in every Group Passes sauna. In Casanova people even smoke in the sauna and steam room. I couldn't believe my eyes when they lit there cigarettes and left the sauna/steam each time, yucks!!
Maybe authorities should be informed about this, so they can act and come in to check on the enforcing of this regulation!!
Message for staff member at the entrance:
If you don’t like your job, quit and go find another one!!
Overall extremely disappointing and I won't ever go back!!“

“After we returned to Casanova a couple more times in May 2019, we need to state our previous review. The sauna does not fill up only on Sunday mornings starting from 4.00 am, but also on Saturday mornings, always towards the same time. We have found beautiful guys, as always, but, the last few times, we have also found hard action and in groups, as we like. We must therefore increase the satisfaction rating. We now know that, after the Open Mind, we have a regular appointment at the Casanova.“

The oly one in Barcelona
“Location: Close to Urgell metro station, where many gay clubs are concentrated.
Type of customer: From 20 to 50 years, but above all there are effeminate guys. After wasting time in other saunas, we tried this one. Friday afternoon was practically empty. We checked with some local guys who explained to us that the Casanova sauna is the busiest in Barcelona, but it only fills up on Sunday from 6.00 am onwards. We tried to return and we can confirm that it is true. Young people, after the disco, come here to relax (a lot) and to look for fun(a little). We found great guys, but rather effeminate and not inclined to hard fun and in groups, as we like.
Structure: Quite large, with everything you need.
Prices: Adapted to what it offers.
Advice for customers: Avoid entering other days except Sunday, it is useless. If you're looking for hard fun, you won't find it here.
Advice for managers: A renovation is required.“

Run down and dirty
“We've been going to this place, on and off, for around 10 years but noticed lately that it has really gone downhill. It looks dirty and run down. We complained a few months ago about cockroaches in the dark sauna. Expecting a change, next time we came back to find the steam room was out of order as was the jacuzzi, but the price was the same. Always used to be really busy and fun but was pretty empty the last two times. They've finally lost us as customers.“

Past it’s best
“We’re firm believers in making up your own mind but trust the poor reviews of this place. Firstly you are greeted by an extremely rude guy on the desk. Once you have navigated him and found your way around as he couldn’t be bothered to help when we said it was our first time there! The place is a dump. Everything seems old and dirty and not a patch on other gay saunas we have visited on our travels. A few guys in on a Wednesday evening but the cruising area is upstairs (and cold) and the other facilities downstairs. Sauna and steam room looked like they needed a good scrub. Save 18 euros and go somewhere else.“

Worse than I expected
“This sauna is very large, but that's the only positive thing to say about it. Very run-down, stinking, dirty, the spaces are badly organised. Showers were not properly functioning, with cold or at most lukewarm water. No cleaning paper in the cubicles. Nobody doing a regular cleaning, so you end up in a mess. Both steam rooms were stinking, the music below was deafening. Avoid at all costs. It should be torn down and completely refurbished. With all that room, it would have potential, but apparently they don't care.“

Rude and broken
“Tonight's visit to the Casanova Sauna started with utterly disinterested service from the receptionist. The facilities were in poor condition with many showers not working and toilets without seats. A cold spa pool and rude service at departure followed. Avoid this rip off.“

I liked the fact that they had 2 dry saunas, but the largest one barely was warm enough to be enjoyable. Jacuzzi was cold.
The crowd mostly comprised of older men in their 60s than younger or mid aged.“

Give it a miss
“Personal advise. Give Casanova place a miss. It is the worst sauna I came across in Europe. The place is dirty and extremely rundown. Steam room is not working....Jacuzzi is cold and dirty. I might be there at a bad timing, was there in the early afternoon and the place was dead.
For rating; A big fat '0'“

“Visited here with a local. Had an amazing time with them, and some other guys while here. Amazing study aboard experience for me lol. Definitely plan to visit again. Lots of action
“Went there on a Monday morning 6am plenty of guys there young and old. Yes some were smoking in places but it was great fun. Certainly a lot of choice to have fun with different people. I had read it was horrible and dirty and nearly didn't go. But actually it's perfectly fine facilities and lots of guys there. I'm sure it's not always busy but you definitely should go. The more people go the fun we can all have.“

“Far too expensive for what you get. During the Circuit week they push the price up to 25 euros which make it, as far as I know, the most expensive sauna in Europe You might think that you would be getting into some sort of VIP sauna, well, you are wrong. Apart from the hot and steam saunas the premises consist of one corridor with 15 or 18 cabins. No dark room to speak of (the closest is one room with a sling which is too well lit), NO dark maze, NO condoms or lube (just one as you get in), NO paper in the cabins, NO soap in the bathroom (yes NO soap, if you want to wash your hands you have to get it from the showers). One thing is to make a good profit out of the tourists who go to the festival and a different one to rip them off.
The crowd? Mainly young with groups of screaming queens hanging around the cabin corridors making "jokes" and being noisy which I find a complete turn off, but that's a matter of personal taste. DEFINITELY NOT WORTH GOING.“

“Préfère le dimanche en fin d'après-midi midi pour avoir une chance de trouver quelques beaux mecs . Sinon éviter en semaine y'a que des trolls.
Propreté très moyenne mais c'est pas pire que dans les saunas parisiens.
Par contre les gens fument partout c'est insupportable au bout d'un moment
N'espérez pas un bonjour ou un au revoir du caissier. Ça reste nettement mieux que le condal.“

“The sauna is dirty, there are used plastic glasses inside the steam sauna.
No one cleans because there's a man on the entrance an another one on the bar only. It looks like it is a smoker's sauna cause the people are smoking everywhere even inside the dry sauna. Really disappointed an unattended place.“

Good night out
“Went here with my boyfriend for some fun. Despite some negative reviews, it was a really enjoyable night. Lots of cute guys arrived around 12-3.
The facilities are nice, but the smoking is a bit off putting for people not use to it.

I enjoyed it
“This sauna is in a great location just 5 minutes from most gay bars and the infamous Arena Madre. I actually went because I met a guy at Arena and we wanted to hook up but neither of us could accomodate. So its great for that.
Entry was a little pricey i thought. (Though not as much as a hotel for the night). Didnt seem to be any discount for being younger like in other saunas. The guy at the front desk was polite and what i especially admired was how helpful the other clients were.
The men there were really nice and gave us useful info on where to go for some privacy and how the place operates. Lots of smiles, waving and a few winks too. The guys seemed pretty good looking and around 25-35/40.
We went on a thursday night after the club at 3.30am and it was reasonably busy. The place was clean including the private cabins and we had plenty of condoms and lube.
Even getting dressed i had a few naked guys hanging about at the doors inviting me to take my clothes back off but alas i went home. So all in all a nice experience.
I didnt think a sauna would be my thing if i didnt have a guy to go with but id happily return on my own sometime too. I did feel safe and relaxed there.“

“I went on 9 September 2015. I had a massage which was very nice. However I book for 60 min and we were done in 45 min. For the rest this is not a place for wellness: its old and shabby. If you are used to Amsterdam / Berlin style sauna's this will be a disappointment. People smoke in the sauna and the dirt in some cabins is awful. The staff is not friendly or unfriendly; they are just there...“

“Going to this place I was expecting very high standard to what I was seeing on there web site. But don't be mistaken I have never seen such a disgusting venue in my life. There are condoms, rubbish every where on the floor, the beds and walls were dirty, not only that people wore smoking inside with the venue having no ventilation. There was no condoms or lube provided in the rooms. You were given one condom and lube when you pay to enter. I would strongly suggest not going to this place at all.“

“Horrible place. We were there on 03/02/2015. A rainy and very cold day. Old-fashioned sauna, but not really dirty. Staff not really enthusiastic. Bar wasn’t cozy at all. We especially disliked the sauna/hammam at the bar. Was like a setting for a horror movie. Location gave me the impression of a butcher shop and we were the meat. Also the people were very lugubrious.
We’ve already visited many saunas in Belgium, the Netherlands & the UK, and you really can’t compare them with this place. Once back home, we talked with friends about this place and apparently, they visited the sauna last year. They had the same impression - Conclusion: invest your money in tapas !“

first time, but not my last
“Staff nice enough, gave me two towels, slippers and condom and lube. It was a monday night (early) by Spanish standards but good mixed crowd. Jacuzzi had cold water. Lockers adequate, locked tight, I've heard about things missing from previous reviews. Cruised awhile, watched some porn to get the juices flowing. Wasn't long before i found myself in a cabin with hot guy from Andorra of all places. It's a small country but not it's men. Later i found myself in another cabin, with another large man. Very horny fellow. Showers are great. More cruising as the night wore on. Finally left and ready to go back soon.“
