Jackson is the capital city of the state of Mississippi, not admittedly the most gay-popular part of the USA, the home of the Bible Belt.
Amidst the flag wavin', gaad fearin' folk, a queer oasis could be found in Jackson's one gay bar. Sadly, the only gay bar in Jackson closed and no new venue has yet emerged for the LGBT+ community.
